Gus had his first birthday party on Saturday.
We had a backyard barbecue! In attendance were Granddad and Gigi Benza, Poppop and Mimi Gutierrez and Grandpop Bradley. Of course Mommy and Daddy and big brother Reese were there too!
We also had the regular cook-out food: burgers, hotdogs, baked beans, tex mex dip, quinoa black bean salad. Reese enjoyed some Buzz Lightyear PEZ.
Gus really tore into his cupcake!
He really ate with Gusto!
In fact he ate the whole thing and would probably have had more if we let him!
Then we opened presents.
Of course he got hoards of goodies. An Elmo puppet seen above and a cow Wheelie bug seen below. As well as books, clothes, Little People sets, Melissa and Doug sets, The Muppets Show on DVD, Duplo sized Legos, architectural letter photos spelling his name and college fund money.
We had perfect weather---cool for set up, hot and sunny for party time!!
Everyone enjoyed themselves and Gus had a great time. We sure do love this little cutie. Happy first year Gussy!!**and Mommy's birthday is on Tuesday so we had a combo. I opened my presents too...espresso maker, fondue pot, cupcake carrier and cookbook, bathing suit and coverups, wallet, purse, dress, nightgown and a Macy's giftcard. Woohoo...can't wait to shop!

How fun!!! LOVE that first pic of Gus.. and Reese looks like such a proud big brother. Very sweet. Those cow cupcakes are absolutely adorable. I actually showed them to my husband (and he has very little interest in the bloggy world ;)). Looks like a wonderful time was had by all... and happy birthday to you too! That's special. My birthday is 8 days after G's. :)
I really thought I'd commented on this a couple weeks ago, but for some reason it's not here.
Well, the cupcakes are AMAZING!! The party looks fun, and Gus is SO cute!
I still can't wait to hear about your first fondue:-).
